Safety and correctness first, then performance, then experience.

Years on the operations side taught me the order systems fail in. So I put contracts at the boundaries, name the failure modes before writing the happy path, and give every identity the least privilege it can work with. A system that can show its own state — what ran, what failed, and why — is one you can hand to someone else at 2 a.m.

I started in hands-on IT: hardware, networks and servers for 500+ clients, and security programs for financial institutions that closed penetration-test findings. From there I moved into network engineering and systems administration across AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, Veeam and Fortinet, where I replaced more and more manual work with Python and PowerShell.

Today I build the systems themselves at hubley: a contract-driven Azure deployment platform, a pipeline that migrated 6M+ files, SPFx and React applications on Azure Functions, and RAG systems. The operator’s instinct came first; it is still the one I design for.
